In 2020, we held two cookery initiatives, collecting recipes and backstories from alums across the globe. We have compiled these recipes into two beautiful cookbooks, ready for your kitchen’s bookshelf!
1) Uncommon Kitchens Inaugural Edition
Uncommon Kitchens is a fantastic cookbook that gathers the 86 recipes and fascinating backstories by Mount Holyoke alumnae from, in or in love with Europe that are published on this website.
From comforting breakfast specials to delectable desserts, this cookbook offers an array of amazing recipes from all over the world that will keep you busy and happy in the kitchen in these dark winter months.

2) Uncommon Kitchens Festive Edition
Following the success of our first Uncommon Kitchens cookbook, published in 2020, the Mount Holyoke European Alumnae Council, cooperating with the Mount Holyoke Global Alum Alliance, reached out to our international network asking for festive recipes from all over the world. The objective was to create a new collection of mouthwatering culinary gems, gathering recipes and dear memories belonging to all the different seasonal and festive traditions cherished within our international community.
Our new Uncommon Kitchens — Festive Edition features 42 recipes from alums and students living in 15 countries in Europe, Asia, and North America. The recipes include traditional family dishes, extravagant culinary adventures, and creative interpretations of old classics. These culinary creations offer us a unique and wonderful way to celebrate our international network and to enrich our Uncommon Kitchens collection.
