November ’22 Newsletter

Dear fellow alums,

As we enter the final stretch of the year, we wish everyone good health and much prosperity.

On November 1, members of the NorCal and the Peninsula Clubs enjoyed an informative online discussion facilitated by Barbara Creed on important rulings made by the U.S. Supreme Court in the past term. Among the issues discussed were gun control, limitations on the authority of administrative agencies, and religious rights. In case you missed it (ICYMI), sign up for Part 2 of our U.S. Supreme Court webinar series with Barbara Creed, which will focus on three important cases from this current term. (See registration details below.) Thank you Eleanor Chang ’78 for coordinating this event.

We’d like to take a moment to recognize our outgoing Club President Marija Vulfs ’08 for her many years of outstanding leadership and contributions to the Club. Marija, who served as president since FY2021, recently resigned for personal reasons. Marija: We wish you well and hope you’ll stay connected to the NorCal Mount Holyoke family! Many thanks to our Vice President Katie Wynen ’05 who has graciously taken on the president role, and to our Co-Treasurer Sarah Lau ’07, who will serve as interim vice president until further notice. If you have a penchant for building community through social and interactive events, email us and learn more about joining our board!

Pay Your Dues
Many thanks to those of you who have already paid your dues and/or become lifetime members. Your annual dues payments and donations enable our volunteer-run club to host a diverse slate of events and programs throughout the year. Dues pay for renting event venues, food and beverages when applicable, guest speakers, creating and sending care packages to local first-year and transfer students, offsetting costs of certain events, subsidizing costs for those who normally wouldn’t attend because of lack of funds, and much more.

If you want to pay membership dues for the 2022-2023 year or become a Lifetime Member, please do so here: MHC Club of Northern CA Membership Dues. If you prefer to pay by check, please email us. Additionally, if your company offers corporate matching or incentives for volunteering or being a part of a non-profit organization, we are happy to work with them to find ways to financially support our club.

Let’s Connect
As we begin planning for 2023, please share with us what types of events, programs, and resources you would like to see the club offer, or any you may wish to offer! Email us or fill out this form to get started. It helps us understand the types of programming that our membership enjoys.

Thank you for being a part of the NorCal Mount Holyoke community. We wish you all a wonderful holiday season!
