Great News! We will once more be delivering Roses to those students in our area who have been accepted by Mount Holyoke College. If you would be interested in welcoming a senior to MHC with a Rose and an invitation to a reception in their honor, please let us know as soon as possible. It may be happening as soon as next week. Please email Trudy at Iminteg@gmail.com to volunteer for this effort. It’s an amazing experience that you don’t want to miss.

For those new to this activity:

Here is what happens. As soon as the AAR’s ( admittance reps) get the list of accepted students, A volunteer (?) will lay out a chart of the schools with addresses where the students are. Another volunteer will assign students to Rose drop Volunteers, while another volunteer prepares the roses in containers (probably tumblers) and the invites. Rose drop Volunteers will then pick up said Rose for each student, whom they have been assigned to welcome. 

Regarding the process for what to do with the Roses once you have them — keep them in a cool place until you deliver them :-). Take them to your assigned school(s) and go to the main office. If the student is available to actually receive their Rose, please deliver it in person (the office will have them come to the office to meet you); if not, leave the Rose at the office so they can have the student pick it up when they can. 

I can’t tell you how excited I am to have this event back and hope you will be able to share the experience. The actual dropping does require that you can do it during the school day, but the other work, locating High Schools, assigned droppers, and preparing the Roses, can be done at other times, so you can still be involved.
