Afternoon at Menlowe Ballet

March 29, 2015 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

The Mount Holyoke Club of the Peninsula and Lisa Piniella Shiveley ’88, executive director of Menlowe Ballet, invite you to a performance of Rapture on Sunday, March 29 at 2 p.m. at Menlo-Atherton Performing Arts Center, 555 Middlefield Road, Menlo Park. A post-curtain discussion about the program and dance company will follow the performance.

Several additional works will complement the title program, including the premiere ofBru’s Sweet, described as a “soulful thrill-ride” to the music of Dave Brubeck choreographed by Reginald Ray-Savage, artistic director of Savage Jazz Dance Company. Savage founded his eponymous group in 1992 and has since created dances in response to and inspired by the intentions, energy, and rich cultural heritage of jazz music. Michael Lowe, artistic director of Menlowe Ballet, will introduce Playing Love, a neo-classical ballet that explores relationships and the facets of love. Completing the program will be Lowe’s acclaimed cultural work Legend of the Seven Suns. A limited number of tickets ranging in price from $35 to $48 may be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis by emailing Lisa directly at lisa@menloweballet.org.  Menlowe Ballet has arranged for a block of seats for club members, with the intent that alumnae can sit together.
