Uncommon Alums, Uncommon Paths: Chief Strategy Officer, Community Leader, & Activist Yulin (Tina J.) Ling ’92

May 6, 2021 @ 2:00 AM3:00 AM PDT

Free

The next installment of our event series showcasing uncommon alums and their uncommon paths features chief strategy officer, community leader, and activist Yulin (Tina J.) Ling ’92. With this pandemic and series of tragic events and injustice, so many of us are hurting, grieving, angry, anxious, and fearful. We’re navigating a global health crisis in unprecedented isolation while still dealing with the relentless discrimination and violence against our BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and immigrant communities across the United States.

Come be in community with Yulin as she shares her journey from student and activist at Mount Holyoke during the 1990s to building professional and community leadership beyond MHC. Yulin will talk about how her time at Mount Holyoke shaped her career trajectory, and the overachievement syndrome that affects so many alums, especially BIPOC and LGBTQ+ alums. As we move farther into 2021, much more work is still necessary. The traumas in life that we, our families, and our communities continue suffering and the deep disappointments, anger, fear, grief, pain, and exhaustion that keep getting shelved for the sake of success aren’t being discussed as we climb the ladder. But they need to be. Let’s remind each other of our amazingness, courage, and strength as MHC grads.

Please feel free to connect with Yulin on LinkedIn.
