Global Fund for Women and two-time Academy Award-winning filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy have created Fundamental, a documentary film series focusing on racial and gender justice. At a time of unprecedented political uprisings around the globe, Fundamental invites global audiences to engage directly with the dedicated and courageous leaders who are standing up for our fundamental human rights and writing new futures for themselves, their communities, and the world.

At this event, we’ll screen two of these short films together—“Rising Power: Building an Intersectional Justice Movement in the United States” and “Defenders of Justice: Fighting Racism & Patriarchy in Brazil.”

Following the films, join us for an important conversation on racial and gender justice between distinguished alum Fabiola Tafolla ’97, Communications Director at the Dolores Huerta Foundation and board member of the Women’s Foundation of California, and Ammarah Maqsood, Development Officer for Global Fund for Women.

There will be time for discussion and Q&A after the conversation.
