2024 Alumnae Association bylaws and slate of nominees for board and committee positions

The Nominating Committee has respectfully submitted bylaws for approval and a slate of candidates for election at the one hundred fifty-second Annual Meeting of the Alumnae Association, to be held on May 18, 2024. Each candidate has been fully informed of the responsibility and rights of the position and has indicated consent to serve if elected. »View the slate and bylaws.

Over the course of the challenge, a record-breaking 4,935 members of the Mount Holyoke community joined together to help us towards our ambitious goal of 5,000 donors, giving over $1.9 million to The Mount Holyoke Fund. This tremendous outpouring of support helped us earn an additional $450,000 for MHC, thanks to the generous challenge from a group of anonymous donors. The result? More than $2.36 million that will go to work immediately to support Mount Holyoke students. »See the final results.

Save The Date: European Alumnae Symposium

The seventeenth annual European Alumnae Symposium will offer an exciting opportunity for social and intellectual interaction with alums and students from all over the world. Home to a wide array of museums, theatres and other cultural institutions, the city of Munich sets the stage for an engaging discussion on the question of cultural freedom then and now, both locally and globally.

Joan Jonas ’58 exhibition at MoMA

Joan Jonas ’58 has two museum exhibitions in New York City this spring: “Joan Jonas: Animal, Vegetable, Mineral,” a focused show at the Drawing Center in SoHo through June 2, 2024, and an expansive, sprawling retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art, “Joan Jonas: Good Night Good Morning,” through July 6, 2024.

The New York Times recently reviewed both shows and declared them “a bounteous and playful survey of Jonas’ career on the vanguard highway.” »Read more.

Western riding team heads to the Nationals

Mount Holyoke Equestrian Center Director Paula Pierce ’94 always knew the Western riding team was destined for Nationals, and this year, for the first time in its history, the team has won the semifinals and will be advancing to the national competition. »Learn more.

Join us for this presentation by Kirsten Peeler ’91, which will explore the intersection between women’s education and the Gothic Revival style as reflected in the Mount Holyoke campus. Key topics to be discussed include why the style was selected to represent higher education in general and Mount Holyoke specifically. Additionally, the discussion will delve into the influence that the country’s preeminent landscape architecture firm, Olmsted Brothers, had on the design of the campus.
