Join us for reading, learning, and community as we discuss books by BIPOC authors.
This month we are focusing on climate change, women, and the environment with two fascinating texts: Ecofeminism by Maria Mies & Vandana Shiva, and the anthology All We Can Save, edited by Ayana Elizabeth Johnson and Katharine K. Wilkinson.
Rather than reading both books in their entirety, we’ll focus on a few sections to help facilitate our discussion:
Ecofeminism:
– Intro (Chapter 1)
– Part 2: Subsistence v. Development (which includes Chapters 4, 5, & 6)
– Chapter 11: Women’s Indigenous Knowledge & Biodiversity Conservation
– Conclusion (Chapter 20)
All We Can Save:
– Begin (Intro)
– Root (Section 1)
– Persist (Section 5)
– Onward (Conclusion)
Of course, members can elect to read whatever sections/chapters that call to them and share their thoughts at the meeting. Hope to see you there!
