Reunion Reports

Hoping you all are off to a great Holiday start. We, your reunion committee, has been hard at work. In the months leading up to our 55th reunion May 24-26the, I propose to post monthly updates of what we are doing. Here is the first one:

Report from the Reunion Committee – Griffin Talks at the reunion.

So far we have two ideas brewing.

ONE is to have several “Topic breakfast tables” on Saturday and Sunday where those interested can come together to share information and/or concerns about: Downsizing, care-giving, relocating to a retirement, being parent/Grand of transgender/nonbinary people, end of life decisions- burial options, your legacy, Racial Equity, social justice, travel etc. Feel free to suggest other topics.

TWO is to have two formal presentations on Saturday Afternoon by those classmates proficient in a topic .We could also double up and have 2 presentations at the same time if there is interest and someone willing to lead another – Hint Hint.

– Lucy Sharpe has volunteered to share her work teaching people about Nature Journaling which she describes as permission to spend time with nature. She will provide suggestions about observing and recording what you experience with drawing and words. Equipment starts with pencil and paper. Some people acquire fancy colored pencils and notebooks.

– I am volunteering to ask four attendees of our Equity Griffin Talks to present what they have learned, and how it has impacted their effort in their communities.

The questions I lay before you is: Would this plan provide the opportunity to learn from each other, which we seem to desire? Would you plan to attend the formal presentations on Saturday afternoon? Shall we zoom or at least record for other viewing such as You Tube? Come to our Connection Site to add your two bits.

As they say online - Please discuss.
