It’s time for our annual Mountain Day Hike! Please join us for a moderate five-mile hike among the redwoods and wildlife at Joaquin Miller Park in Oakland. An optional picnic lunch will follow.

We will meet at the bottom of Woodminster Cascade, which is a big stone staircase with little pools. This part of the park is on Joaquin Miller Road, and the closest cross street is Crane Way.
We will take breaks along the trail. Be sure to pack sunscreen, water, hat, hiking snacks, and comfortable shoes/clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. If you’d like to stay after for a picnic lunch with the group, pack your own lunch or bring something to share, too. Lunch will be nearby our starting point.

There’s a playground next to our meeting place for alums who may be interested in coupling the hike – or part of the hike – with time at the playground with your young children.
