Check out the Club’s Wreath at the Wadsworth!

download (1)Did you know that the Mount Holyoke Club submitted a wreath this year to the Wadsworth’s Festival of Trees? It’s true!

Visit the Wadsworth Atheneum’s “Festival of Trees and Traditions” and look for the wreath decorated and donated by the Mount Holyoke Club of Hartford, “Winter Wonders in the Connecticut Valley.”

The Atheneum’s “First Night” from 5:00–8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 3, will be the first opportunity to see this year’s trees and wreaths, and will feature seasonal music, a dance performance, and holiday treats. Sales of trees and wreaths benefit the museum’s special exhibitions, educational programs, and operating expenses.

The festival will continue through December 13, but the museum will be closed December 7–8. Museum hours are 11:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, and 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. For more information, see the Wadsworth’s website here.

Reminder: Performance of “Third” on November 3!

Tickets from our block at Theater Works are going fast for the November 3 performance and talk-back of Wendy Wasserstein’s “Third”!

Alumnae and their guests are invited to an evening at Theater Works (http://theaterworkshartford.org) in Hartford to see “Third,” Wendy Wasserstein’s last play, on Tuesday, November 3. Kate Levy, winner of the 2014 CT Critics Circle Award for outstanding actress, will play Dr. Laurie Jameson, a feminist college professor who accuses a student, Woodson Bull, III (called “Third”) of plagiarism.

Our special group rate of $45 includes: reserved seating for the 7:30 p.m. performance; a reception from 6-7:15 with finger food and an open bar; and parking in a lot directly behind the theater. You’re also invited to stay for “Talk Back Tuesday,” an insightful post-show discussion with members of the cast.
To reserve your seat(s), call the Theater Works box office at 860-527-7838, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and mention that you’re part of the Mount Holyoke group on November 3. Theater Works doesn’t issue paper tickets; you just give your name at the door. If you’re a recent graduate from the Classes of 2011-15, the Mount Holyoke Alumnae Club of Hartford will reimburse you $15 on the evening of the performance. The Club is handling this discounted price, so please don’t ask the Theater Works box office for a discounted seat.
