Three College Luncheon on March 24!

We’re delighted to host the 2016 Three College (Mount Holyoke, Smith, and Wellesley) Luncheon and to welcome Dr. Dianna R. Wentzell ’86, Connecticut Commissioner of Education, as our keynote speaker.

Dr. Wentzell, an educator in Connecticut for more than 25 years, began her career as a social studies teacher. She was appointed as Commissioner of Education by Governor Dannel P. Malloy in April 2015, after serving as Interim Commissioner since January 2015. She has a bachelor’s degree in Russian Studies from Mount Holyoke, a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, and a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Hartford. She is also a former Fulbright Scholar, undertaking her study in Pakistan.

Common Read Discussion on January 21

The club’s January program will be a discussion of Mount Holyoke’s 2015 Common downloadRead, Americanah, by prize-winning Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. For more information about Americanah and how it was chosen as the Common Read visit the College’s website.

The discussion will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 21, at an alumna’s home in West Hartford. If you’re interested in attending please email Carolyn Dorais at cedorais@comcast.net and details, including the address, will be emailed to you.
