What\u2019s its backstory?&nbsp;<\/h5>\n<p>The recipe allows the natural taste from many ingredients to come out so the<br \/>\ndish has a full and rich flavor. I am a fan of hearty breakfasts so I eat this on a<br \/>\nday when I want to be satiated for a long time. I was originally served this by a<br \/>\nboyfriend and was very impressed by the visual presentation and flavor. I have<br \/>\nmade it for myself several mornings since and find it irresistible. It is a delicious<br \/>\nand beautiful dish, easy to find ingredients for, and could be made for any meal<br \/>\nof the day!<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h5>Shakshuka<\/h5>\n<p><em>Serves 2-3. Takes approx. 35 minutes.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Ingredients:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>4 eggs<\/li>\n<li>2 cans whole blanched tomatoes (400g each)<\/li>\n<li>2 cloves garlic<\/li>\n<li>2 long red peppers<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd tsp cumin<\/li>\n<li>1Tbsp tomato puree<\/li>\n<li>1 Tbsp either Harissa or Pilpelchuma, dried or as a paste<\/li>\n<li>Feta cheese<\/li>\n<li>Olive oil<\/li>\n<li>Fresh Coriander<\/li>\n<li>Optional Vegan substitutions for egg: White beans, eggplant.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Instructions:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Chop red peppers into \u00bd cm cubes. Fry in a pan with olive oil over medium<br \/>\nhigh heat until peppers start to soften, about 5-7 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Press or thinly slice garlic, add to the pan and keep stirring so as to not burn<br \/>\nthe garlic. Cook for 1 minute.<\/li>\n<li>Add tomato paste to the pan and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.<\/li>\n<li>Add 2 cans of diced tomatoes to the pan, salt to taste, Harrisa, and cumin.<\/li>\n<li>Let simmer for about 10 minutes until the sauce has thickened.<\/li>\n<li>With a spoon, hollow out a shallow bed in the tomato sauce and crack an egg<br \/>\ninto the bed. Repeat for all eggs, spreading out the beds around the pan. Break<br \/>\nup cheese and add on top of the tomato sauce around the eggs.<\/li>\n<li>Reduce heat to low and place the lid on the pan, cooking until the egg whites<br \/>\nare firm and yolks are runny, approximately 6 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Remove from heat.
