What\u2019s its backstory?&nbsp;<\/h5>\n<p>My husband G\u00e9rard loves anything with onions and kept after me to make him this quiche from Alsace Region in France. We both liked the result and now make it often. Few ingredients and fast to make. Peeling and slicing the onions bring tears to my eyes!<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h5>Onion Quiche<\/h5>\n<p><em>Serves 6. Takes approx. 45 minutes.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Ingredients:<\/span><strong><em>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 recipe for pie crust homemade or store &#8211; rolled out to fit a pie pan.<\/li>\n<li>1kg sliced onions<\/li>\n<li>20 cl&nbsp;cr\u00e8me fra\u00eeche (1 cup sour cream)<\/li>\n<li>2 eggs<\/li>\n<li>Salt and pepper<\/li>\n<li>75 g of raw bacon bits (lardons)-optional<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Instructions:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Oven Temperature: 210\u00b0C<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Peel and slice the onions.<\/li>\n<li>Melt butter in a casserole and add onions and bacon (if using) and cook until onions are translucent.<\/li>\n<li>Blend the 2 eggs and creme fra\u00eeche, add salt and pepper, then add the cooked onions<\/li>\n<li>Pour the onions mixture into the prepared pan.
