UPDATE [5.1.2024]

**** Introducing your class scribes ****

Mary Cole Czachowski    Some of you may remember me from Psych classes, swim meets (I was a diver), anthropology classes (I think I took anything Kay Warren taught), and meals in Pearsons (lived there first two years).  Now at 70 and retired I look back:   my notables include, a work history of sales for two major companies, one divorce (ugh— but I survived), some interesting travel, one daughter (field of social work in North Boston area), volunteer time with the Girl Scouts and church, sunny days on Lake Winnipesaukee (where my parents retired), a remarriage at age 55 (met on match.com— who’d a thunk?), and now 44 years of living in the same house in Scotch Plains, NJ (I’m on a flat piece of property with one- step access in and out; we’ll never move!)  Enough about me — what’s up with you?  Your old friends and acquaintances at MHC are eager to hear.

Sue Andon McKay   From freshman year in Ham Hall to present day Wellesley, MA and a whole lot of living in between…a career in executive search led me to NYC, Hartford and Boston.  I have three sons from my first marriage who are now married and living in Eastern MA. Three grandchildren joyfully arrived in our lives including a granddaughter (and future MHC’er) and one grand dog!  My current husband of 25 years and I met on the water and have done a lot of sailing and cruising ever since – we keep our boat in Bristol, RI.  Looking forward to hearing from all of you as we head towards our 50th Reunion.

Sally Michelac    What a remarkable ride it has been since graduating nearly 50 years ago.  Talk about the changes we have lived through!  In 1979 the American Express management training program sent me to the West Coast where I landed as manager of the Travel Service Office in Seattle.  Remember the days of Travelers Cheques?  I married Tom, two children came along, and then we decided to relocate when Tom’s employer  (HP) downsized and offered him employment in Boise, Idaho.  Culture shock yes, but a carefree life in the slow lane welcomed us.  I discovered volunteering ranging from being a Girl Scout leader to managing city council campaigns.  Although in recent years Boise’s explosive growth has brought us Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods, we miss running into people we know at places such as the library, grocery store and airport.  Now that our children and grandchildren live in the Washington, DC metro area, we are deciding where and when we would like to live next.  In the meantime I look forward to our 50th and reconnecting with everyone.  P.S.  I still have a landline as a remnant of times gone by.

Posts from the Past

From Sue Ellen Dodell

Life has been busy for me in the six years since I retired from full-time work. For three years, I worked as a part-time administrative law judge for NYC, handling building code, restaurant, and sidewalk violations. Now, in addition to local political activism, I am devoting myself to fighting for NYC retirees whom the Mayor is trying to move from traditional Medicare to a Medicare “Advantage Plan.” I’d welcome hearing from any of you who’ve had your company or government try to do the same thing to you! In my spare time, I love to power walk around my neighborhood each day and try as many of NYC’s restaurants as I can. Would love to connect with you!
