{"id":3146,"date":"2016-07-08T12:26:44","date_gmt":"2016-07-08T16:26:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/new.alumnae.mtholyoke.edu\/1961\/?p=3146"},"modified":"2016-07-08T12:27:32","modified_gmt":"2016-07-08T16:27:32","slug":"3146-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.alumnae.mtholyoke.edu\/1961\/3146-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Recommendations from Dee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From Dee Abrahamse after our 55th:<\/p>\n<p>I loved &#8220;Citizens of London&#8221;, and many thanks to Bette for introducing it to us.<\/p>\n<div>Since then I&#8217;ve been reading some &#8216;worthy books&#8217;, and looking for some mysteries and novels to lighten up the non-fiction.\u00a0 I&#8217;m making my way through &#8220;The Gene&#8221;, by Siddhartha Mukerjhee, and finding it fascinating, but some of the scientific concepts are hard for my humanities brain. This spring &#8220;Hamilton&#8221; inspired me to read the biography it was based on,(Alexander Hamilton, by Ron Chernow), and in spite of the length, it was a terrific read that never got boring.
