{"id":2335,"date":"2015-01-20T10:15:43","date_gmt":"2015-01-20T14:15:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/new.alumnae.mtholyoke.edu\/1961\/?p=2335"},"modified":"2015-01-21T11:09:51","modified_gmt":"2015-01-21T15:09:51","slug":"student-internships","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.alumnae.mtholyoke.edu\/1961\/student-internships\/","title":{"rendered":"Student Internships"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 class=\"p5\" style=\"color: #333333\"><span class=\"s2\">Delivering on\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s3\">a Promise<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"color: #404040\">Last July, a\u00a0<i>Time<\/i>\u00a0magazine article touted Mount Holyoke alongside two universities as \u201cmore the exception than the rule\u201d among institutions that offer \u201coptions under which students get to work with employers in their chosen fields before graduation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\" style=\"color: #404040\">Prior to that, President\u00a0<b>Lynn Pasquerella \u201980<\/b>\u00a0made headlines with the announcement that the College will guarantee funding for one qualified summer internship or research experience for every student at Mount Holyoke. Many students will have multiple internships throughout their undergraduate careers, but the opportunity for guaranteed funding is only offered by a handful of small liberal arts colleges.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #404040\">Students approved for domestic internships via The Lynk receive $3,000 in funding, and students pursuing international opportunities receive $3,600\u2014numbers that have already translated into increased access to professional placements for a greater number of students as well as increased access to fields that typically don\u2019t offer paid internships. Since the launch of The Lynk in fall 2013, internships are up 55 percent.
