Marsha Rae Barton Charron 1953-2014

Marsha Rae (Barton) Charron, 60, of Waterford Connecticut died
Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New
London. On this day, Marsha became a true angel surrounded by love,
joining her son Frankie in heaven. She was a loving mother, sister,
grandmother, and wife.

She was born in New London, July 15, 1953, daughter of Russell and
Gunhild “Bobbie” (Bice) Barton. She was the wife of Donald Charron,
who survives her.

A graduate of Stonington High School, Marsha earned a nursing degree,
graduated valedictorian from Three Rivers College in Norwich, and
obtained a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Mount Holyoke College
in Massachusetts. After working at various nursing homes for many
years, Marsha moved onto INC Research where she became a medical
writer.

Marsha was predeceased by her son, Francis J. Bruno.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Marin
Bruno of Amsterdam, Netherlands and her partner, Marcel de Groot; her
twin sister, Jeanne Violette and her husband, Roland, of Waterford;
sister, Bonnie Walker and her husband, James, of Danville, Ill.;
brothers, Bruce Barton and wife, Linda, of Norwich, Barry Barton and
wife, Rae, of Waterford; step mother, Theresa Barton of Plainfield;
stepson, Justin Charron of Waterford; granddaughter, Anastasia
Charron; numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Marsha enjoyed bicycling, kayaking, sailing, and riding with her
husband on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, and, of course, spending
quality time with her twin sister Jeanne and traveling abroad with
her daughter, Marin and Marcel, especially on the island of
Martinique, where her ashes will forever remain.

Marsha, with a heart of pure gold you will be dearly missed but never
forgotten.

A memorial service was conducted at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons East Lyme Funeral Home, 48 Grand St.,
Niantic. Flowers are accepted, or a contribution may be made to either the
Women’s Refugee Commission or the One Drop Foundation.
