March 2012 Communication from the Reunion Chairs

March 2012

Greetings, classmates!

Our reunion is just two short months away, and we hope those of you who are still undecided will join us for a terrific experience. Here are some of the compelling reasons to come:

 Renew your bonds with Mount Holyoke. Explore the library, walk around Upper Lake, and experience again the joys of dorm life.

 Enjoy the Mount Holyoke College campus in the splendor of spring!

 See classmates you have not seen since our last reunion or college days.

 Your attendance will make the experience better for everyone. Contact a friend and make plans!

 With such a variety of activities planned, there is something for everybody!

 Our love for Mount Holyoke is our common bond.

Go to alumnae.mtholyoke.edu/reunion  for  up-to-date reunion information. There you will be able to make your reunion reservations online, send a classmate an e-card, check out the photos from previous reunions, and much more. For more information, please read the letter from our Alumnae Association included with this letter.

KEY REUNION INFORMATION:

Parade

—Remember your white outfit for the parade (dress, skirt, slacks, or shorts). Also, be sure to march in the parade! We are hoping to win one of the reunion cups, which are based on class counts from the parade.

Back-to-Class

—If you are arriving in time for the Back-to-Class program on Friday, plan to attend a class or two. This program has become one of the most popular programs of the weekend. This year’s class assortment is the best yet! Come in a day early if you want to catch the early classes on Friday.

Headquarters Dorm

—Our class will be assigned a headquarters dorm. This is where you will find our class welcoming committee, the parade accessory (costume) and name tag along with other things related to our class.

Make your reunion gift

—Each reunion class gives a special gift to the College’s Alumnae Mount Holyoke Fund. Prizes are given to classes that have achieved or exceeded their individual goals in various categories. Our hard working Gift Team is hoping our class wins a prize this year. Our class goal is $15,000 from a minimum of 25% of our class. As of the writing of this letter, 10% of our class has given or pledged a total of $13,706. We only have $1300 to go to reach our class goal!! We realize that our participation goal is only 25%, but if everyone contributed just $4, we would exceed our class goal by $200. We can do this! Please consider giving this year!

Keep in touch

Great news – we have a brand new class website! Check here for reunion updates and other class news! We also have a class Facebook groupAND a LinkedIn page – Mount Holyoke College Class of 1997. Wow, we’ve come a long way from our Telnet days!

Call a Friend or Two

—A call from you may be all they need! You can search for your classmates’ contact information on MHConnect, the Alumnae Association’s online community, at alumnae.mtholyoke.edu/connect or by contacting Alumnae Information Services at 413-538-2303 or ais@mtholyoke.edu. After verifying that you are an alumna, they will be happy to give you the information you need.

Make plans to join us May 18-20. Our reunion will not be the same without you!

Sincerely,

Sarah Chasse, Co-Chair

Michelle Scott, Co-Chair
