Southington- Heather Stewart (Kemble) Woiciechowski, 50, of 54 Marboy Dr. Plantsville section, passed away on Sunday September 25, 2011 at Hartford Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of Leon C. Woiciechowski.
Heather was born on April 19, 1961 in Boston and was the daughter of Jean Adie Kemble of Southington and the late John Schuyler Kemble.
She was a graduate of Kent School for Girls in Kent, CT and Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, MA. Heather was employed by the DOT/FAA New York TRACON as an air traffic management coordinator.
She was a member of AOPA, the 99s, the Experimental Aircraft Association, the professional Women Air Traffic Controllers Association, the National Air Traffic Controllers Association and the Women in Aviation International. She also flew this year in the 29th Women’s Air Race Classic. Heather loved flying her plane, scuba diving and snorkeling in Hawaii, golfing and fantasy football. She loved doing things for other people. To make other people happy made her happy. Her dream was to retire and volunteer for Angel Flight whose pilots fly cancer patients to treatments at no cost to the patient and join the Coast Guard Auxiliary to assist them in patrolling our borders.
Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by a brother Bruce Kemble of New Fairfield and a sister Jennifer Bishop of Selmer, TN, several nieces and nephews.
A “Celebration of Life Party” will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at noon at her residence, 54 Marboy Drive, Plantsville, CT 06479. Casual attire preferred. Pastor Barry Bishop of Selmer, TN will be officiating.
