Class of ‘70 Turns 70 Celebration Tea in the DC Area!
Come to the Columbia Country Club in Chevy Chase, MD, on 25 February 2018, 2-4 p.m. (honoring Mary Lyon’s birthday on 28 February.)
Cost will be under $50 per person (includes valet parking, tea sandwiches, cream scones, sweets, tea and coffee.)

Our Collective Birthday Party is on the Monterey Peninsula April 15–19, 2018
Yes! We’ll use Casa Munras in Monterey as our base for several days of spring exploration of the beautiful Monterey Peninsula in Northern California. This area is one of the most stunning confluences of land and sea! We recommend you make your reservation as soon as possible at Casa Munras (mention Class of 1970, Mount Holyoke College) at 800-222-2446. We have reserved a block of rooms (breakfast included) for $207 (double) and $187 (single). As an additional, restful treat, book a treatment at Casa Munras’ Spa, one of the best on the Peninsula!
Activities will include our collective birthday party dinner of Tapas and Paella, a “Behind the Scenes” tour of the Monterey Bay Aquarium and the Aquarium itself (one of the finest), a guided walk of Carmel-by-the-Sea or coffee on the beach, a hike at Point Lobos and/or Asilomar State Park, a wildlife and birding cruise on the Elkhorn Slough in Moss Landing, a guided walking tour of Pacific Grove, a wine tasting on Cannery Row, (ta da!) water aerobics every morning in the heated pool, led by our own Jamie Wirene Schwarzfeld, and just relaxing and chatting with classmates! Details and costs for these and other planned events will be forthcoming.
Since you will be in California enjoying our typically moderate weather, you’ll probably want to extend your tour before or after the mini-reunion by traveling to the Central Coast (Julia Morgan’s architectural gem, San Simeon, the coastal vineyards), or to Napa/Sonoma or San Francisco. Plan now!
When making air reservations, you have your choice of arriving at San Francisco (SFO), Oakland (OAK), or San Jose (SJC). Or you may choose to fly into Monterey Peninsula Airport (MRY). Rental cars are available at these locations.
